Technical Details

Type: Editor-only C++ plugin (no runtime dependency).
Workflow: Uses UE Localization Dashboard import path, generates .po, merges via UE’s standard pipeline.
Caching: Per target/culture key, keyed by source text + target lang + formality + glossary + context.
Language Handling: Auto-detects source; maps common targets (e.g., EN-US / EN-GB / PT-BR / PT-PT / ZH; otherwise 2-letter codes).
Platforms: Unreal Editor on Windows / macOS / Linux.
Engine Compatibility: UE5+
Networking: Direct HTTPS calls to DeepL; no external services.

Notes & Limitations

DeepL account required.
Context scope is per request; it doesn’t carry across separate text parameters (DeepL limitation).
Glossaries must be created in DeepL and bound to the correct language pair.
Security: API key is stored in Editor Per-Project User Settings (not committed by default).
